April 2015 news

April's main event was NAB Show 2015, of course. Our team representative visited the event and met many of our customers and partners. You can see some of the useful links, reviews and photos in our industry news digest. It also has some news from April which would be interesting for a wide audience.

Traditionally, we present The State of Streaming Protocols for April so you could see where our customers are moving in terms of used technologies.

A few new stories about WMSPanel and Nimble Streamer were published around the globe:

Speaking of international spread: FastSpring - our payment gateway - added a couple of new payment methods for non-recurring payments:

  • Alipay for customers from China.
  • Webmoney for customers from Russia and Ukraine.

If you'd like to use them for subscription payments, please contact our sales representative.

A long-awaited RTMP playback capability is now available in Nimble Streamer. It now supports full cycle of RTMP delivery from getting the RTMP input to re-publishing and streaming output.
Please also check the complete set of RTMP features on our website.

MPEG-DASH edge re-streaming is now part of our DASH feature set. Will be a best fit for customers who have pre-packaged DASH streams.

If your hardware failed and you need to restore Nimble Streamer config without manually entering streaming settings again, use the new config repair capabilities.

Streams aliases can now be set up for Nimble outgoing streams. This provides wide security and reporting abilities for our customers without any resource overhead.

A big set of pull API methods was introduced recently:

The last but not the least update is about Dispersa streams availability monitoring. As our London checkpoint was disabled due to continuous hosting provider failures, we recently added new checkpoint in Frankfurt, Germany. Check the complete list of existing checkpoints.
