October 2015 news

October brought us a few very powerful features to our products.

DVR feature set is now available in Nimble Streamer! It allows recording for RTMP, RTSP and MPEG-TS incoming streams for further playback via HLS and MPEG-DASH. Read this article for setup and usage details.
Our customers were asking about this so now we've implemented basic feature set which is being extended. Feel free to send us your feedback so we could prioritize the most important requests from you.

RTSP TCP interleaved playback is now part of Nimble RTSP feature set which allows not just taking RTSP but also provide it for players and further usage by other media server instances.

Live content control is one of the issues for RTSP publishing. To cover that case we introduced RTSP publish control framework. This allows our customers to build flexible business logic into public streaming services especially for mobile broadcasting systems.

Speaking of mobile broadcasting, this month we've released Larix Broadcaster for iOS which was previously available for Android. Please read about its setup and usage and take a look at Mobile Broadcasting Library if you'd like to build RTSP streaming app for iOS or Android. BTW, the Android version is also updated periodically.

And finally a small update for Dispersa streams monitoring service: it has a new checkpoint in Toronto now.

Also, check our traditional report for the State of Streaming Protocols of this month.
