September 2015 updates

September introduced several new features of our products as well a new partner announcement.

As always, first please check our State of Streaming Protocols report for September.

Mobile Broadcasting Library is now available for iOS! It uses RTSP for broadcasting and you can build you own iOS media streaming apps using this our SDK. New licencing terms and pricing are also described on library page. iOS app on Apple store is coming soon. Meanwhile you can contact us to become a tester of this app to see how it works for you.

In addition to iOS, Larix Broadcater for Android has also been updated with a couple of fixes.

Microsoft Partner Apps blog has a new post about media streaming with Nimble Streamer using Microsoft Azure cloud deployment. It introduces a couple of Microsoft presentations about Nimble on Azure. Read more about Microsoft Azure setup and usage with Nimble Streamer on our website.

Processing RTMP and RTSP pull streams by request can now be set up in Nimble Steamer. It allows saving bandwidth of remote media source during the time when nobody is watching the stream.
See example of setting up IP camera pulling RTSP streams.

Our customers often use Nimble Streamer for large-scale infrastructures. They automate deployment using configuration files but if they needed to add server instances into WMSPanel to get statistics, they had to do it manually. Now we introduce Nimble Steamer instance registration along with importing settings to WMSPanel. It allows automating deployment along with getting excellent reports for your delivery network.

One more good hint was introduced you may now set up MPEG-TS transmuxing by importing your playlists. So it's now easier to use existing settings.

We get questions from people about setting up popular encoders. Check example of how to set up Teradek VidiU to publish streams to Nimble Streamer for further delivery.
