Update: read also July news.
WMSPanel team released a couple of very important features in June along with several enhancements. Let's see what we have for you.
Nimble Streamer is now able to convert published RTMP streams into HLS with adaptive bitrate.
Read the articles describing streaming RTMP to HLS with detailed description of transmuxing RTMP to ABR HLS. Nimble's ABR is set up in a very simple way and it works very fast.
RTMP publish is only supported at the moment but we're working on pulling RTMP from origin.
Another big update is about reporting capabilities. WMSPanel now has ISP networks report. It shows number of connections for each of the internet service provides used by your clients. It works both for Wowza and Nimble Streamer.
Speaking of reporting, high precision report data can now be exported to CSV for any period of time. This might help combining our stats with some other analytics.
For those of you who would like to show WMSPanel reports in some customized environment, you may want to hide WMSPanel menus showing reports only. This is done via white label capabilities with custom CSS. You can also see custom CSS example in our github repo.
Our numerous WMSAuth customers sometimes require to enable stream hotlinking protection for one country and forbid other countries. We've added FAQ question to our forum to show how this can be done.
Nimble management also has couple of improvements.
You can set up CPU and RAM alerts for Nimble to get notified when a server consumes some significant amount of resources.
HLS re-streaming setup wizard was introduced to help setting up re-streaming routes for those who are not yet familiar with the system.
