June has been full of enhancements.
We've updated Nimble HTTP Streamer web pages to show general use cases which it now covers: progressive download (both origin and edge) and HLS re-streaming. With WMSPanel excellent reporting of course. Nimble Streamer is now also capable of being an HTTP load balancer using geo-location and IP-ranges. This allows building complex infrastructures. Take a look at this Nimble page to get familiar with best use cases.
We also updated Nimble Streamer demo and added a real-time chart from WMSPanel dashboard to show who's watching the demo at this same moment. Looks cool!
Several features and improvements were made for Wowza server management.
First, It now allows making general settings of an app using a wizard-like style. Basic options are available but more are planned to be added soon.
To help people make everyday operations easier, we've introduced Wowza application templates which will allow having any number of pre-defined configurations for quick work.
We've continued working on Wowza add-ons support. Wowza Transcoder add-on is now supported.
Right now it allows re-setting and shutting down the transcoder, and also displaying all transcoding settings. We are gathering feedback for further improvement. If you use Wowza transcoding, please share your experience and typical use cases so we could implement them first.
The last but not the least. One of our trial users has described his experience with WMSAuth feature set. That's a good real life example for people thinking about hotlink protection for their media assets.
