November brought news for all of our products.

Nimble Streamer

A lot of people are asking about performance capabilities of Nimble Streamer and want to know what is their hardware capable of when using Nimble. We've released performance tuning guide which covers both general description of Nimble Streamer tuning for various scenarios and answers some frequently asked questions about customers' use cases.

Some of our customers would like to track their infrastructure performance using some real-time monitoring capabilities. So our team released Nimble Streamer status API which allows tracking current connections and bandwidth of any server instance for further scenarios like balancing or alerting.

Nimble Streamer has had support for Icecast and MPEG-TS streaming for some time already, so following our customers' feedback we've added hotlinking protection for Icecast and MPEG-TS within WMSAuth paywall feature set.

As WMSPanel works perfectly as a front-end for Nimble Streamer, we've been improving it for variety of use cases so now WMSPanel has multiple servers setup capabilities. Some of them are described in this forum post. Basically now you may apply the majority of operations like RTMP and Icecast settings, ABR set up and others to several servers at a time simply by clicking on their names in respective dialogs.

Some of our customers are using streaming secured by SSL and they need to be able to re-stream them. Nimble now can work with HLS via SSL for further re-streaming.

Dispersa

Dispersa streams avilability monitoring service now has SSL support for HLS, RTMP and RTSP streams. You may both run check-overs and set up periodical monitoring for encrypted streams. Just enter the URL and Dispersa will do the rest.
